London Fashion week is going down a storm (literally), but the weather has done nothing to dampen the spirits of fashion’s finest. With hoards of wedges, platforms, converse and Louboutins scrambling (gracefully of course) over the threshold of various London venues, it will be a week many will never forget. Somerset house, the mother of fashion week has opened it’s doors for the likes of Bora Aksu, PPQ, Vivienne Westwood and Marios Schwab, providing a menu enough to fulfil even the fussiest of palette’s.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the Kilian Kerner showcase at the fabulous Waldorf Hilton and to run into the inspirational designer himself (see photo). Now working on his 16th collection, Kilian Kerner is known for using emotion to inspire his collections. Each of his designs has a story to tell and are essentially a communication of his feelings; this could be seen clearly through the use of colour (very dark next to very light) and the romantic shapes used in the standout pieces (pictured below).
The aspects we loved the most about this collection were the clean lines, intricate detail and the exquisite accessories (especially the statement necklaces). The showcase itself was elegantly presented, with the fabulous space being utilised to its full. Kerner’s signature use of live music came in the form of a classical pianist, complimenting the relaxed but regal atmosphere perfectly.
Our experience ended with a glass of bubbly and a goody-bag containing gorgeous silk scarves. A thoroughly enjoyable and impressive presentation.
